History of J & L Machine and Tool

J & L Machine and Tool began in February of 1993 as Fixture Cast. During that time, Fixture Cast was a small operation designing and constructing small custom tooling for a major manufacturer in south central Texas.

In January of 2000, we changed our name from Fixture Cast to J & L Machine and Tool which better reflected the type of work we do and the clientele we were seeking to do business with.

Since January of 2000, we have doubled in size, added more machinery, and more than tripled our client base. We are certified by the Central and South Texas Minority Business Council as a small minority business entity in order to obtain Tier 1 manufacturing contracts as a sub-contractor for major automotive manufacturers in the U.S. Through the Council, we are HUB Certified in the state of Texas. This allows us to work for city, county, and state businesses

Our services include, precision machining, CNC work, Jigs & Fixtures, Prototyping, Rapid prototype mold making, Urethane and Plastic mold work, CAD design work, and specialized tooling.  Our customer base consists of private and government entities, as well as research and development and commercial businesses. We also tailor to entrepreneurs and inventors.

Owner, Joe Hinojosa, brings with him 30 years experience in mold making, tool & die, plastics and resins, specialized tooling, CAD design work, and the research & development of new products while Loretta Hinojosa assists with the business and manages the office.
